Post by jo hangue » 03 Sep 2007, 21:55

hi,
i'm beginner in BCI researches.
i want to know how to connect from my own hardware(EEG data acquisition device: biopac MP150) to BCI2000 source module.
the hardware's transmission type is ethernet cable. i checked C:\BCI2000\doc document file but could not find a clear answer.

Jo,

First, you will need to find out how to access data from your MP150 device in real time. I do not know this device, but many devices only allow data acquisition using the software that comes with the device. If that is the case, you obviously cannot use it with any software other than the one that comes with it.

If access from external software is supported through some interface, you will need to write a BCI2000 source module to interact with this device. Assuming you know how to program in C++, we have written a tutorial that leads you through the process. Find it on the BCI2000 wiki on

http://www.bci2000.org/wiki/index.php/P ... ion_Module

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Actually I know a little bit this device, Is linked with a compter trough LAN cable and TCIP protocol, a good way to interface it with BCI code should be a "remote connection" that connect with the specific IP address of the device. The only problem should be the protocol of the device, how start, how configure the channels...

Anyway I am interested to interface this device too, if you make any progres, please let me know.

Regards
Gaetano
