Emotiv Epoc and Mac Os

Post by Amine Metani » 21 Apr 2015, 08:38

Hello,

I am considering building BCI2000 from sources to make it run natively on Mac Os - without the use of a virtual machine + a Windows installation.

However, I am not sure I'll be able to grab the data from Emotiv Epoc, as the SDK developper kit is only available on Windows, and I am not aware of the way BCI2000 and Epoc's signal are linked, and how the licences are taken care of. Do anybody have any kind of knowledge on that ?

(I point out that I own both the education and research sdk licences).

Thanks for your help,
Amine

We have not tested the Mac OSX build for quite a while. I would thus recommend that you proceed with using Windows for the moment. We will soon release BCI2000 v3.6 and will revisit the linux and OSX platforms after that. If you are interested I will contact you then again as a beta tester. Let me know.

Only one platform is included with the purchase of the SDK. I can only recommend you to either try to get a Windows version of the license in addition to your existing license [1]. The additional license would for the Emotive SDK for another platform is $99.95. As the support for the Windows platform should work out of the box, this might be a reasonable investment.

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply.

I do am interested in beta-testing BCI2000 for Mac Os when you'll start working on it.

So I'll stick to Windows for the moment then.
