Understanding how bci2000's P300 speller works

Hi,

I am trying to understand how bci2000's P300 speller works, unfortunately I am having a hard time understanding it all just by reading the code.

Could someone please guide me through the steps it takes to print a character and the main parameters involved in each of them?
