Is this a normal topographic for P300?

Post by HindHaneen » 14 Apr 2013, 16:14

Hello everyone,

I conducted a P300 speller exp. using BCI2000 and emotiv headset. When I was doing the offline analysis, this is the topographic I got, is it normal to get it like this?

What I did is that I modified one of the .loc files to make it suitable for the emotive headset. I also numbered the locations in the .loc file (using ElocHelper) according to their order in the batch file (specifically, in the "source" tab --> "channel names" box) when I conducted the experiment .

What do you think?

YOUR help is really appreciated :)

Doing topographies with 14 very sparsely organized electrodes is not necessarily very meaningful. Also, most of the electrodes important for P300 experiments are in occipital channels. Thus, you may want to flip the Emotic headset backwards to catch them somewhat better.
