When trying to run BCI2000 using the BrainProducts FirstAmp as a signal source I can´t even start up BCI2000 properly. I tried on two PC´s which run Windows XP. I followed the instructions on the User contributions vAmp site: I compiled BCI2000 Source code and the vAmp Contribution; then I plugged in my First Amp and installed the driver. I copied "DiBpGmbH.dll" and "FirstAmp.dll" to the BCI2000/Prog directory. Then I modifield one of the Batch files (Signal generator cursor task) replacing SignalGenerator.exe by vAmpSource.exe.
But when trying to start the batch file I always get the same error message:
"TfmMain::EnterState:Unexpected system state transition: 11->1.".
The Operator.exe gui opens up, but all buttons (including Config) are disabled and in the Status bars it says on the left side "Fatal error" and on the right side "Waiting for configuration".
The same thing happens when I try to start it up using the BCI launcher.
I downloaded the extended BCI2000 Setup which includes the pecompiled contributions, installed it and repeated the whole process (incl. copying the two dlls to the prog directory). But the result is still the same. The amp runs perfectly when using the Brain Vision Recorder, so it is not broken or anything.
Has anybody had this problem too? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Hello,
There have been other reports of the firstamp program not working, which unfortunately I am unable to replicate; I have tested it on 5 computers in our lab with fresh BCI2000 downloads, and they all work fine. Are you able to compile the program yourself? I used Borland C++ 2007, but it should also work with Borland C++ 6.
If you want to try it, I have uploaded a version I just compiled that I know work, which you can download from:
http://homepages.cae.wisc.edu/~jawilson/FirstAmp.zip
Let me know if this works, and we can go from there.
Adam

Hi Gerwin, hi Adam,
thank you for your quick replies, I ´ve been out of office for some days and so I could retry only today. I replaced the set of exe and dlls I used before with the ones from your download and now everything works fine (I tried with a vAmp and a FirstAmp). I don´t know what was the problem, but I used Borland C++ 6 to run the Build.
Thanks again,
Maria
