Initial session batch and spatial filter

Hi Gerv,
Can I just confirm with you;

The batch files used for both the initial session (to determine the appropriate feedback channels) and for the actual feedback sessions (Mu 1dimensional 2 target) are the same apart from the task ie. StimulusPresentation.exe for the initial session and CursorTask.exe for the feedback session.

The spatial filter for the initial session must be the same as is subsequently used for the feedback session (CAR64 in this case).

thanks
Emily

Emily,

I don't quite understand your questions.

The batch files call appropriate BCI2000. When you only want to present stimuli (such as in the initial session), you will use a source module appropriate for your data acquisition device, pretty much any signal processing module (since you are not giving feedback, so it does not matter what online signal processing does), and the StimulusPresentation task to present stimuli. Online, you will use the specific Source module, ARSignalProcessing module, and CursorTask module. Does this make sense?

For the reason described above, it does not matter what filtering you do in the initial session since the online filtering is not used anywhere. You determine the appropriate features offline.

Does this make sense?

Hi Gerv,
So does that mean you can use the dummysignal.exe for the initial session?
cheers,
Emily
