why sample block sice?

Post by Paico » 09 May 2017, 03:27

Hello dear people:

I have two question about the parameter sample block size and sampling rate.
first I think that these parameters work so:
If I have a signal of entry from 1Hz, if I put sample block size = 32 & sampling rate = 256.
I have 8 samples of the signal entry.
1/(32/256)=8 samples
Can someone confirmate this afirmation?
Thanks..

The second question is:
Why this system of sampling? This response is for argument my final work of university

Thanks for all!

If you use a SampleBlockSize of 32, you have 32 samples in a block, not 8.
Why this system of sampling?
Just like audio data is processed in blocks of data rather than individual samples, so is EEG data. This is because a computer cannot be made to constantly and reliably process data at single sample speed. If you need more information, read up on audio processing.
