Error 8 error MSB6006: "cmd.exe" exited with code 9009.

Post by lsegura003 » 12 Sep 2016, 11:09

Hello,

i am trying to build source code as stated here:

http://www.bci2000.org/wiki/index.php/P ... tart_Guide

I am using Cmake 3.6.2 and Visual Studio 2012 express (linked in that URL).

I tried it in 2 different computers, one with Windows 7 and other one with windows 10 (did the same process, had the same error).

After i obtain the BCI2000.sln file, i open it with visual studio 2012, set it to "release" and try to build a single module (application/p3speller).

I get this error at about 85% of the build process:

Error 8 error MSB6006: "cmd.exe" exited with code 9009. C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\V110\Microsoft.CppCommon.targets 172 5 AppBundler (Build\Tools\AppBundler\AppBundler)

Could someone help me?

Thanks.

Following the trace, i reached this lines:

Generating Code...
16> Creating library C:/Users/User/Desktop/BCI2000source/BCI2000src/build/CMakeFiles/core/Application/P3Speller/Release/P3Speller.lib and object C:/Users/User/Desktop/BCI2000source/BCI2000src/build/CMakeFiles/core/Application/P3Speller/Release/P3Speller.exp
16> P3Speller.vcxproj -> C:\Users\User\Desktop\BCI2000source\BCI2000src\build\CMakeFiles\core\Application\P3Speller\Release\P3Speller.exe
16> Creating Bundle:
16> Access denied.
16> Executable may fail to run when moved to a different machine.
16> ""C:\Users\User\Desktop\BCI2000source\BCI2000src\build\buildutils\AppBundler"" not recognised as an internal or external command,
16> program or batch file.
16> Error creating bundle.
========== Build: 15 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========

Not pretty sure what it is failing tough.

16> ""C:\Users\User\Desktop\BCI2000source\BCI2000src\build\buildutils\AppBundler"" not recognised as an internal or external command,
16> program or batch file.

It seems like ""C:\Users\User\Desktop\BCI2000source\BCI2000src\build\buildutils\AppBundler"" must be run, but it gets access denied. Anyway of solving this?

Solved: Anti virus (avast in my case) was preventing that file from launching. Deactivating it did the thing.

lsegura003,

this is a known issue — many antivirus scanners consider unknown files as highly suspicious. For that reason, we code sign the binary distributions of BCI2000 and have them whitelisted in addition with the major antivirus software programs. If you are building BCI2000 on your own you will likely need to either exclude the BCI2000 path from the antivirus scanning, or de-activate the scanner completely.

Regards, Peter
