Low r values during mu tutorial?

Post by jwlbci » 13 Aug 2009, 14:06

Hello,
I'd like to ask a question about the R values on the mu tutorial. After feature extraction and selection, certain subjects have significantly lower R values than the demo. For the case of the demo files, R values were in the 'tenths' value range, from .3 and so on. The subjects have gone through the non-feedback protocol several times, but only reaching smaller R values (.02 or .06 at most). I understand every subject is unique, but this seems rather low. One subject has undergone this several times, and still has not achieved anything above .1. Testing has shown the electrode cap has low impedance, and the system showed recorded features. We used a Neuroscan EEG system. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks. -John
