unable to see event names of bci2000 .dat file in eeglab

Post by Sri_usw » 27 Jan 2016, 21:39

Hello,
I recorded an EEG signal with g.Nautilus using BCI2000. I recorded motor imagery during imagination of left hand and right foot (75 trials of each). I loaded the data onto EEGLAB with stimulus code (and tried with stimulus type as well). When I use PLOT->CHANNEL DATA SCROLL , what is see is only a word "Stimulus Code" but not my event names/stimulus names.
Can you please point me in right direction. Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sri.

Sri_usw,

I assume that you are using StimulusPresentation to present your stimuli/cues. The presented stimulus is coded in the StimulusCode state [1] and the identity of that stimulus is defined in the Stimuli parameter [2]. You can see that when you use load_bcidat [3] in MATLAB and look at the states and parameters variable.

I am not an expert in EEGLAB, however you should see the very same states and parameters there.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply, I tried to open the .dat file in matlab using load_bcidat and epoched data using stimulus codes, but wanted to do the same in EEGLAB as it has more options to analyse the data. When I tried to do the same in EEGLAB, all I can see is a word "StimulusCode", I can't see either stimulus name or code associated with stimulus.

Sri,

I have reached out to the BCILAB support to resolve this issue. I will report back once we have a resolution.

Regards, Peter
