offline analysis tool on Win 7 64-bit

Post by Ryan » 07 Apr 2011, 11:09

Hi, all,
I am trying to run the offline analysis tool (I tried both version 2 and version 3)on my Win 7 64-bit system.
it seems like only the executable version will work, after the installation of MCRInstaller.exe.
But when I run the M-file in Matlab (2009b), it keeps giving errors (some functions cannot be found) when I am adding data files, even though I already added the mex file into the path.
I am wondering if this tool supports 64-bit system, or there is something I did wrong.

Thanks,
Ran

Hi Ran,

you need to include the BCI2000/tools/mex path into your Matlab path. Then it should work.

Hi, Juergen,

Thank you for your reply. However, The problem is I already instroduce the mex file to the matlab.
I have it worked on my XP system, but failed to work on the Win7 64-bit one.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Ran

Hi Ran,

is there a file called load_bcidat.mexw64 in your BCI2000/tools/mex directory?

Hi, Juergen,

Sorry for the late update. Yes, I found the file in mex folder. However, still no luck.
here is a list of files inside the mex folder:

Sincerely,
Ran

Hi Ran,

BCI2000 comes with .mexw64 files in the mex folder, but they are missing from yours (note that .mexa64 is not the same as .mexw64). Get the .mexw64 files from SVN, and you are set.

Hope this helps,
Juergen

Hi, Juergen,

Thank you for the quick response.
I checked again, and I do have the .mexw64 file (the extension file type was hide), referring to Fig 1.

This morning, I tried BCI2000 on another computer with x64 win 7 system, still no luck.
I list my procedure here, hope we can pinpoint the problem.
1, set path, add mex folder and offline analysis folder (I tried both with and without adding this folder), Fig 2.
2. Run the offlineanalysis.m file or offlineanalysis.fig, everytime it runs, but failed to add files, gives the error like before. It seems there are a lot of functions cannot be recognized.

Sincerely,
Ran

Hi Ran,

when you run OfflineAnalysis, Matlab finds the load_bcidat.m file in the OfflineAnalysis directory before searching on the path. You will need to either remove the load_bcidat.* files from the OfflineAnalysis directory, or copy the load_bcidat.mexw64 file from BCI2000/tools/mex to the OfflineAnalysis directory.

Hope this helps,
Juergen

Hi Juergen,

When I copied the load_bcidat.mexw64 file from BCI2000/tools/mex to the OfflineAnalysis directory, it can add data, but gave error something like "MEM" function cannot be found when generating plots.
When I removed the load_bcidat.* files from the OfflineAnalysis directory, and added the mex to path, it works!
Thank you so much!

Sincerely,
Ran
