question about acquire EEG signal in bci2000

Post by summersun » 11 May 2015, 22:24

hello all
my project aim is to help stroke patient move their hand.I want to get the EEG signal in bci2000,but when I wear the EEG headset and run the batch file :CursorTask_Emotiv that I create as the requirements of bci2000 website, everything is good , but how can save the EEG signal data for offline analysis? I know the bci2000 can automatically save the EEG data in .bat format, but why I get the EEG data with .db format? how to save the data with .bat format ?
question2:if I successfully save the data with .bat format, can I directly run it in the bci2000?
Thank you very much.

Summersun,

I assume that you have modified the CursorTask_Emotiv batch file to start the Emotiv source module, so you should see your EEG signals once you start the batch file and press "Set Config" in the operator [1]. To store the data you need press "Start" in the operator. The data file will then be written into the data subfolder within your BCI2000 folder. You visually inspect your recorded data using the BCI2000Viewer [2] in the tools folder, or you can import your data into MATLAB using the load_bcidat mex interface [3] in the tools/mex folder.

If all you need is to acquire data without any task, you can use the DummySignalProcessing and DummyApplication modules in your batch file. This will allow you to just record data, with no further task configuration.

Regards, Peter

Summersun,

I can look into this issue, however I would need the following info from you:

(1) Which version of BCI2000 are you using, i.e., binary download or self compiled. If self compiled which SVN version and which compiler.

(2) Which operating system are you running BCI2000 on.

(3) Please upload the binary of the BCI2000Viewer and the BCI2000 data file that causes the viewer to crash.

Regards, Peter

hello peter
(1) the version of bci: file version 9.20.0.0
(2)operating system windows 8.1 ,64bits
(3)when I upload the binary of the BCI2000Viewer and the file that causes the viewer to crash, the system show: size is too large and the extension dat is not allowed , separately ,the BCI2000 data file I run in BCI2000Viewer is the EEG signal that I acquire from Emotiv neuroheadset, but even I run
samplefiles of bci2000, the BCI2000Viewer still not working.
the attachment is the new picture when I run BCI2000Viewer,as shown in the picture ,is it the BCIViewer only support for 32bits?
Thank you

Summersun,

I could not reproduce your error. Can you please try to download an updated version of the BCI2000FileViewer from the link below:

http://tinyurl.com/mkwekld

Please report back if this resolves your issue. If not please upload the BCI2000FileViewer and the datafile to your google drive, dropbox or a similar location from where I can download it.

Hi every one!

I had had the same problem, but luckily using the pbrunner's link, BCI200Viewer works fine.

Thank you so much!
