Postdoctoral position on ERP-N400 in Rio de Janeiro

The Biological Signal Processing Laboratory of Federal Center for
Technological Education in Rio de Janeiro (CEFET/RJ) invites
applications for a postdoctoral position to work on Linguistics N400
Event Related Potentials.

The post-doc will mainly be in charge of :
1) participate in the design of an automatic denoising of single-trial
N400 evoked potentials
2) participate in the design and elaboration of neurolinguistic
research protocols EEG.

The successful applicant will be affiliated to the Biological Signal
Processing Laboratory at Electrical Engineering Department. The
Electrical Engineering Department offers a rich research environment
composed of a multidisciplinary set of research units on robotics,
neuroscience of language, cognitive neuroscience and electronics. Our
research team, at the interface of these disciplines, is working on
the cognitive aspects of language interpretation in Brazilian native
speakers, with an emphasis on the distinction between word and
sentence processing. Our lab is located in front of Maracanã Stadium,
15 min from Copacabana beach, Sugar Loaf and Cristo Redentor Statue
(Christ the Redeemer).

Candidates should have at least a PhD degree in a relevant domain and
a solid training in EEG, ERP and signal processing.

The position will start on January 1st, 2014.
The appointment is for one year.
The net salary will be approximately 3 200 dollars/month.

Consideration of applicants will commence immediately and will
continue until the position is filled.

Knowledge of Portuguese is not required as the team is international
and verbal interactions are primarily in English.
