How to detect or filter the EMG signal in EEG?

Post by lei84320123aaa » 14 Aug 2013, 22:41

Hello, guys,

Recnetly, i was doing my motion imagery project. In the training stage, i thought i hit the something besides me with my right hand strongly. But i wonder that if the strong imagery will bring some EMG, because i find that my neck's muscles will be slightly activted . So i want to konw that what can i do to judge if the EEG signals is pure or ruined by EMG? Or how to filter the EMG signals?

Thanks!

Check out

Goncharova, I. I., et al. "EMG contamination of EEG: spectral and topographical characteristics." Clinical Neurophysiology 114.9 (2003): 1580-1593.

It should have answers to all your questions.
