Electrode setup for Amplification

Post by Muhsin » 17 Oct 2010, 05:19

Hi
I am using differential amplifier for EEG signals. If I use electrode C4 for the +ve input of amplifier then what should be the -ve input?, CP4 or anything else ?

I would use the ear lobe. You could also use P4. I would not use CP4. This is a little too close. THere are many papers that used different bipolar montages. You can check them out, but these two suggestions should be a good start.

Thanks for your reply.
I am working on a BCI based on Motor Imagery. I have found bipolar montages for left-right imagery as: C3-CP3, C4-CP4 and Cz-CPz. But as you suggested not to use much closer locations (i.e C4-CP4).
Would you suggest me the optimal electrode locations for motor imagery detection?

Thanks in advance.
