offline analysis?

Post by Bernie » 02 Mar 2005, 14:48

hi
i have recorded data from a synamp amplifier, with neuroscan data (continous *.cnt files).

i wanted to test everthing offline first, so is there a tool/input block for offline tests from stored data instead of online? e.g. like a simulator that reads in and provides the stored data just as it would be online?

Bernie,

There are a few issues here:

1) Have you collected the data using BCI2000 and Neuroscan? If yes, you won't need the .cnt files. If no, I believe you can read the signals back into Scan, but then I'm not sure what you would like to simulate.

2) Febo Cincotti is working on an offline analysis package for BCI2000 that he will present at the BCI2000 Workshop that was just announced.

3) For BCI experiments, we for many reasons strongly discourage online simulations and encourage offline statistical analyses. This is the main reason we never put an online simulator module into BCI2000 that can read stored data. (Online simulations tend to focus analysis attention on short data segments that usually do not generalize well.)

I hope this helps. Please get back with clarifications.

no the data was collected with
Synamps1, and recorded with Neuroscan. Not with BCI2000.
so how could i read those data back into scan then?

I think this is mostly what i was thinking of.

Data acquisition questions ...

Bernie,

Thanks for the clarifications. Unfortunately, I do not know Scan well enough to be able to help you with that (and we don't have Neuroscan in our laboratory).
