Converting .edf and .event files to a .dat

Post by tcmajor » 30 Sep 2014, 11:33

Hello,

First I would like to say that I am new at this so if there are any ignorant questions, I am sorry.

I downloaded some trial data from http_nospam_www.physionet.org/pn4/eegmmidb/
These files came in a .edf and .event format. I am trying to plot these in MATLAB and eventually use them in EEGLAB for offline analysis of the signals. I am having trouble understanding the file format issue and importing the .dat file. Could anyone point me to the resources to help solve this problem?

Regards,
Tyler

Hi Tyler,
Those data formats are not related to BCI2000. They must have been acquired with different software. EEGLAB has at least one plugin for loading .edf files. I'm not sure how an .event file works. If you can't figure out how to load the files into EEGLAB then you should ask your question on the EEGLAB mailing list.
